Trying to move past the shackles that bound him to slavery, Korrigan engrossed himself in work helping to a dam in the southwestern United States. Opening day of the Hoover Dam should be a joyous occasion, but the area has recently been beset with earthquakes. Korrigan is called upon to help lend his unique skills to the investigation.

What he finds under the earth is not what he expected, and knowing friend from foe is always a tricky decision. Facing the collapse of the newly built dam, not to mention the fate of thousands of people attending the celebration, Korrigan must face his past and embrace the magic he has shunned for centuries.
