The Root Of All Evil

When Bartholomew Denton, the owner of Leaham Hall in North Yorkshire, is discovered dead in his bed, Detection Officer Sergeant Hector Blagdon is called in. Young and fit as Denton was, the death seems suspicious. Blagdon is also intrigued by the quick turnover of maidservants at the Hall, and wonders if there is something else going on. With his old adversary Kendel the butler seemingly trying to frustrate the investigation, Blagdon must delve deep to find answers...
