Gary Wood is a poacher, his father was a poacher and his grandfather was a poacher. Gary takes rabbits from the woods, pheasants from the fields and fish from the rivers. The landscape around his home in Stratford on Avon is rich with opportunities for him and his father Pete. They trap, shoot and fish wherever and whenever they they fancy.
But Pete and Gary's luck has run out, they're caught in the woods with their guns one night and a court appearance is pending. For Pete things couldn't look worse, his treasured shotgun is held in the police evidence locker and his pride is badly bruised. Gary, on the other hand, is about to discover there are worse things in life than a damaged ego.
