Mick Inkpen's Kipper simply has to be one of the most endearing--not to mention enduring--children's characters of all time, constantly furthering the cause of his legions of young fans as they lap up every word and picture in each of his highly successful stories.
It is easy to see why Kipper is so popular. His books are the perfect combination of easy-to-read--or follow--text and simple, yet captivating stories. Their bright, clear illustrations have certainly proved to be a winning formula in the past and that seems likely to continue well into the future.
In Kipper's Christmas Eve, Inkpen works his magic once again in a charming tale of the happy little puppy and his familiar friends as they prepare to hang up their stockings in readiness for a visit from Santa. As usual, Inkpen's illustrations are a delight and will enthral any child; the story, as sweet as candy, makes for perfect pre-Christmas entertainment. At the back of the book there is a glowing, flashing surprise that every child will love.
A welcome addition to the Kipper family of books, Kipper's Christmas Eve is a seasonal picture book that children everywhere will continue to treasure long after Santa has drunk his last sherry and eaten his last mince pie. (Ages 3 to 5) --Susan Harrison
