Second and very early Impression, in the same year as 1st, Hodder 1952. 189pp. Vignette title-page, frontispiece and several further plates by the seminal Hodder Biggles illustrator, Stead. Good clean tight sound square, no bookplate neat inscriptions to end-papers, light foxing to fore-edges of leaves. In black shadow-lettered and illustrated red cloth featuring classic Biggles image in flying hat and goggles, slightly bowed to upper, very gentle chipping to spine. A First Edition of these early tales in the Biggles canon and a welcome addition for the enthusiast.
