Kij Johnson recommends
Smothermoss (2024)
Alisa Alering
"Smothermoss is rich, strange, and beautiful, simultaneously eerie and so very honest. An exciting first novel."
Neom (2022)
(Central Station)
Lavie Tidhar
"Yet again, Lavie Tidhar's future world of Neom is exciting and distinctive, his characters complex and fascinating, and his themes powerful and thought-provoking. [Tidhar] is the best sort of science fiction."
Nothing But Blackened Teeth (2021)
Cassandra Khaw
"Khaw is always compulsively readable. This was a wonderful haunted house story, modern characterizations in compelling tension with a lyrically beautiful ancient Japanese residence."
