Lisa Jensen

Lisa Jensen was born and raised in California, where she has never lived more than a mile away from the ocean. She has been writing movie reviews for a weekly newspaper in Santa Cruz, California, for 25 years. She also wrote book reviews for the San Francisco Chronicle for 15 years, where her specialty was historical fiction and women's fiction. Between movies and books, Lisa has worked as a professional cartoonist, a television hostess and a dollmaker. She lives in Santa Cruz with her husband, artist James Carl Aschbacher, and their two disreputable cats. THE WITCH FROM THE SEA is her first novel. An earlier version was published in a German-language edition in 1998 as Die Heimliche Piratin (The Secret Pirate).
