The weather was perfect as the Concerto sailed around Australia. The blue seas sparkled under the brightly shining sun and at night the stars were pinpricks like diamonds in the black sky.
Aboard the ship, in the evening all the public rooms were full of sparkling jewels adorning the wrists, ears, fingers and necks of the wealthy clientele who loved to sail on Cosmos Cruise Line.
Who wouldn’t enjoy sailing the circumference of Australia, visiting many of the wine areas as well as intriguing cities and towns, snorkeling, diving, touring, enjoying wonderful food every meal, faultless service, and the pinnacle of luxury at sea.
Well, it was a joyful trip until some of those sparkling jewels began to disappear.
At first, nobody noticed, the thief was that clever, but soon, one of the victims clued in to her loss.
Chief Security Officer Marianne Mackness didn't like the idea there was a jewel thief on board, but she was confident her team would find the culprit.
Captain John Crane had faith that his Security Chief was up for the task, and he was determined to do anything he could to help her.
So were four passengers who were traveling on board in the Owner’s Suite – the four ladies from the Pine View Seniors Complex in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Julie had helped solve a mystery while the four ladies were sailing in the Caribbean, and as a thank you, Cosmos Cuise Line had gifted her the trip around Australia. She was sure she could help again, and so were Jill, Vicky, and Holly. After all, they unraveled most of the shenanigans that occurred at their Seniors Complex, so why couldn't they solve this mystery as well?
There was one question Marianne, the Captain and the four ladies all had … was the charming little girl, Penelope, involved, and if so, how?
