A Magical Moment is a African American paranormal romantic suspense novel
Taylor Cates is a lawyer for a battered woman's shelter. When the abuser's husbands and lovers are murdered one by one, Taylor and Stone Emerson, a private detective hired by one of the husbands - race to find the killer, but danger comes to them, threatening not only their budding attraction, but their very lives.
This book is the first book of a new series of romances with suspense and paranormal themes. It is related to my Eastman series as far as characters, but not a part of that series because the suspense and paranormal themes.

...Monica Jackson's third and, I think, best novel....Despite the various plot twists and themes in the novel, the basic love story between Stone and Taylor never suffers. The characters are likeable and refreshingly honest. Opposites attract....All the elements in A Magical Moment came together. I liked it...a lot.
~Excerpt~
Taylor looked so good sprawled out on his bed. He took off his shoes first and loosened his tie. When he took off his shirt, her eyes widened, but she didn't make a sound. He unbuckled his belt and dropped his pants.
The apprehension in her eyes transformed to lust when she saw his readiness, and he almost lost it. Forcing himself to take his time, he took off his socks, then finally his briefs. He dropped to the bed on one knee, leaning over her.
She moistened her lips, an unconscious gesture. He needed to kiss them, but not quite yet. "Now, your turn," he said. She didn't protest as he drew off one of her sandals, then the other. She wore a white silk T-shirt tucked into a short black skirt - simple, direct, and sexy as hell, just like her.
He ran his hands up her silky brown legs to the hem of her skirt. He reached behind her, his hands molding her full buttocks.
