In the Royal Palace in Sephron City, capitol of the Kingdom of Sephronia, there lives a Princess named Alissa. A very brave and sometimes willful girl who once raised magical fireflies in a little village in an aspen wood.

She still raises fireflies, of course, but now they have a grand glass house in the palace gardens, and are very seldom called on to fill a lantern. Mostly they volunteer to keep Alissa company.

And their reassurance is welcome, for Alissa has much more weighing on her shoulders as a Princess than she ever did as a firefly girl. Most of all, the Curse that has fallen over Sephronia has grown more and more terrible since her last adventure. It has even reached the heart of the palace itself, causing her grandfather the King to fall into a deep sleep from which he cannot awaken.

Alissa's father the Prince has gone off to lift the Curse, leaving her behind even though she begged him to let her go with him and help in his Quest. He insisted it would not be safe, but is anywhere in Sephronia safe as long as the Curse hangs over the kingdom?

Especially since it seems the Curse has finally caught Alissa herself, throwing her into another adventure. Not just to save herself and her family, but all of Sephronia.
