Laurel:
There is a saying: Want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
I did that once and I will never make that mistake again.
No siree, bob!
I learned that lesson whenI turned fifteen, received some life-altering news, and continued on like nothing happened.
Boy Howdy, the big guy upstairs, started laughing and hadn’t stopped yet.
Since then, my life has been one eye roll, one misadventure after another.
One of my problems just turned sixteen. My oldest son, Nash. Loved that kid to death, but I was seriously considering giving him twenty bucks, a good luck pat on the back as I kicked his ass to the curb.
Survival of the fittest, baby.
Yeah, my kid wouldn’t survive the night.
Then there was my mother. A true Southern woman, born and raised. Think Scarlett O’Hara meets Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies, who was gearing up for wedding #6.
Yep, that’s right. My mom was getting married for the sixth time and apparently couldn’t plan crap without me. Add in my new Comic Book store and I was at my limit.
So imagine my surprise when I spot the very person who caused one of my problems!
And no, I ain’t talkin’ about the man upstairs.
Banks:
There is a saying in the south: home is where the heart is.
Too bad for me ‘cause I left my heart in Southern Alabama sixteen years ago and never really got it back.
Not that I had a choice in the matter.
The last time I saw my heart, I was just a randy fifteen-year-old boy who had his world rocked by a true Southern Belle.
In the good way, if you catch my drift.
So imagine my good fortune when our paths cross again.
Too bad she now has a mouthy teen who kinda looks a lot like me and enjoys causing problems.
That’s when I did the math.
Never one to shirk my responsibilities, I jump into the fray and brace, because thats when life gets really interesting.
When the truth comes out about why I left all those years ago, the club rallies when I receive unexpected visitors from the Russian Bratva.
That’s when I realize home isn’t just a place, it’s the people who always have my back.
Genre: Romantic Suspense
