Flight from Fear

The glamorous redhead hired private detective Joe Wayne to escort her to Ashbury, a town fifty miles away. She was frightened, Wayne saw, but she refused to tell him the source of her fear, and when their car crashed and the girl was killed, Wayne had a real problem on his hands. He endeavoured to build up the rough outline of a murder pattern, only to discover that it made no sense. A vital part of the picture was missing and a lot more ground would have to be covered before the true pattern emerged.
