‘A gloomy castle with a dark history is a writers dream’, William said when he purchased Gloomhaven. Wren was nervous when she heard the castle was haunted. Wren was right to be afraid.
William and Wren bought a castle in Scotland. It was the perfect place for fiction novelists, except that there was no lighting, no central heating, no creature comforts at all. William would make the castle habitable and once the electricity was installed Wren would follow.
William’s first text messages, were the usual complaints of unreliable tradesmen and shoddy work. Yet soon William seemed afraid. Alarming noises, unusual drafts, disconcerting events. Surely this was simply William’s creative mind running amok? But when the messages made William seem slightly unhinged, Wren knew she had to go to him.
When she enters the castle, malevolence surrounds her and cold seeps to her bones. When she hears the banshee call, she shudders in fear and screams for William. But when an invisible entity pushes her, it is clear she is in deep trouble.. As Wren battles the paranormal entity that inhabits the castle, she knows it wants her dead.
