Who knew Alyson was descendant from an explorer? Certainly not Alyson, not until she inherited a sad old mansion. When Alison makes her first visit she finds a treasure trove of artefacts but why does that weird box give her pause? She told friend Oona not to open it, but Oona didn't listen and pulled out a doll. Shortly after that the strange occurrences began.
Things didn't feel right the minute Alyson opened the door. Especially when Oona insisted that something had scampered over her foot. Yet surely that was just eccentric Oona's imagination? But could Oona's imagination explain the pulsating eyes of a wooden doll? And how do words carved on a box simply evaporate? Things unwind further when Alyson is woken in the dead of night by Oona's screams for help. But by morning everything seems normal. Everything - except for Oona who seems to have lost her fear of anything. But Alyson's problems aren't over. Why did Oona take off with Alyson's car? And how is it that deep gouges and scratches covered Alyson's legs that bleed through her jeans? And what is it about that weird doll? Can Alyson discover the secret of the doll before she bleeds to death? And what of Oona, where is she?
