Sparks fly when Elizabeth Jackson, a dedicated nurse from the North American British colonies, meets Captain John Beverly, a devil-may-care cavalry officer, wounded at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War in 1854. As a result of her association with him she is forced to leave the religious nursing order of which she is a member and truly believes she will never meet him again.

But John has made a promise to himself that they will meet again. When they do the circumstances of both have changed. She has inherited a fortune and he is a penniless, discharged soldier on his way to Australia to seek gold.

Sparks of romance fly between them again as they travel together to Melbourne aboard the famous sailing ship MARCO POLO.

Is it only a shipboard romance? Or is their love for each other strong enough to overcome family interference, differences in culture and the strict morality imposed by Victorian society? Will they ever meet again?

Rating: A sweet romance with some sexual content.

Genre: Historical Romance
