For years, High King Aleksander DVairedraconis has masqueraded as Aleksanta for the holidays. He is delighted by lovely letters he receives from his family, but they are addressed to him alone. Since Rafe is the center of his world, Aleksander hates that he lacks a role on such an important day.
Each December, Aleksander is caught between honoring the wishes of his family and trying to convince them his other half deserves better on the solstice. He fears his is a lost cause and refuses to acknowledge Rafes desire to refer to himself as Mr. Aleksanta.
Haunted by the ghost of Aleksanta, Aleksander is open to changes. But he is surprised by a proposition for a solstice event unlike any of their past holidays. Soon the tree is trimmed, the cookies are decorated, and the gifts are wrapped. As soon as the entire extended clan converges on the DVaire mansion, they discover Aleksanta isnt the lone specter floating around.
