Julie grew up in various towns in Kentucky, New Mexico, and Colorado, then moved to Texas to attend college and stayed because even the strangers were friendly. Aside from writing, she is a freelance editor and tries to keep up with her family and a couple of shelter dogs who don't always appreciate their rescue.
She enjoys reading, indie films, folk music, photography and splitting chocolatey desserts with her husband, an engineer who doesn't understand writers, but understands chocolate.

The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany (2020)
Lori Nelson Spielman
"In a love letter to Italy and indeed, to life, Lori Nelson Spielman's The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany carries the reader on a delightful and poignant journey of no regrets. From the secret corners of Venice to the cobblestones of Ravello, 'cursed' Emilia and her Great Aunt Poppy enchanted me and gave me hope that all things can work out just right--even when it seems the stars are hopelessly misaligned."
Promise (2018)
Minrose Gwin
"Lyrically precise, taut, and realistic, Promise kept me absorbed from beginning to end."
