I can't believe it's come to this...

It was your classic case of opposites. I was the football star; he was the class clown that put itching powder in my jockstrap. I'm laid back; he's in-your-face loud. I've told everyone for years that I hate him... but hate has an opposite, too.

His name is Tripp. He's a social media star. And he's so damn vibrant he makes my teeth ache.

My parents are coming to town. The same social climbing idiots who disowned me when I refused to go into something 'prestigious', like medicine or law. The same parents that made my grandmother so upset when they called the other day that she bragged about my new celebrity boyfriend.

I don't have a boyfriend, celebrity or otherwise.

Now my parents are coming back to town, intent on meeting my nonexistent partner. I just want to get through this visit, appease their pride, and watch them go away again.

If Tripp will play pretend for me, maybe we can make it through this visit without bloodshed. And if my inner wolf will settle down, maybe I won't have to wonder whether he's my fated mate or not...
