Secrets are still smoldering in the shadow filled forests of Rush, California. The citizens of this coastal town may have put the horrific death of Dorothy Garrick behind them, but her sister, Beth, is haunted by the inferno that killed her. Is Beth seeing ghosts or has Dorothy really returned from the dead?

Rush. 1993. The idyllic town, nestled deep in the redwoods, is rocked by a tragic accident. Several residents perish in a devastating house fire. Beth Garrick, the fourteen-year-old sister of one of the victims, is untethered by her heart-breaking loss. But this misfortune is soon just a sad stain in the town’s history and Beth is deemed the resident “crazy lady”.

Present Day. Samantha Salazar just wants to leave her past behind. Living in her refurbished Airstream on a campground adjacent to Rush, Sam is turning her life around with the help of Narcotics Anonymous. She even enjoys her job at the local bar, the Redwood Rings, despite the strange characters and stranger town factions. But that fresh start is upended when Beth Garrick enters her quiet life.

Beth has been struggling for years after the death of her sister. What the town sees as “crazy”, are the side effects of grief. When Beth starts to receive messages from Dorothy from beyond the grave and even sees her sister in the flesh, Beth is convinced that Dorothy is still alive. She implores Sam, former military police, to help find her. With the shady characters that reside in Rush, Dorothy could be in grave danger.

Past and the present collide, small-town politics rule, and deep-rooted secrets are unearthed in this unforgettable page turner. Full of twists and turns,
The Girl Who Couldn’t Stop Dying is a book to die for again and again.
