R F Kuang recommends
Tread of Angels (2022)
Rebecca Roanhorse
"The world sucks you in from the start, and the pacing yanks you along by the collar. Black Sun is instantly riveting from the beginning - Roanhorse is at the top of her game here."
Kaikeyi (2022)
Vaishnavi Patel
"Mythic retelling at its best: entrancing, troubling, and complicated. Kaikeyi is marvelous."
The Chosen and the Beautiful (2021)
(The Chosen and the Beautiful)
Nghi Vo
"This book is Gatsby the way it should have been writtendark, dazzling, and fantastical. Of course Jordan Baker should have been the main character. Of course everyone should have been messing with magic. Vo has created a perfect response to Fitzgerald in tone, voice, and theme."
