There wasnt much Theodosia Banks could do about having to travel to the wilds of Cumbria to nurse her aged relation. Her dire circumstance is enough to force her to leave the home she had lived in all her life and make the perilous journey across the country to visit the relation she barely knows. What she doesnt expect along the way is to encounter a questionable gent who is adamant she is a nefarious madam who has kidnapped his sister. Not only does Theodosia have to try to persuade the man she has never met his sister, but she faces a very personal battle not to fall for the rather too handsome scoundrel who insists on following her everywhere. Silas Beauchamp is not going to be swayed by any pretty woman. He has little doubt that Miss Theodosia Banks is the woman he is after, even if she is using another name. She is certainly the kind of woman who would tempt a man into paying for her services. However, he has a wayward sister whose whereabouts are far more important than the emotions Theodosia brings about within him. He must focus his attentions on finding Eugenie, preferably before she destroys the family name completely. When someone makes their sinister intentions clear, even to Theodosia, Silas realises he is not the only one intent on persuading the mysterious madam to divulge all her secrets. Should he bother to protect this woman, who is prepared to sell her soul to the highest bidder? When jealousies and passions surface, though, and Silas finds it impossible to walk away, he is faced with the very real possibility that his sister isnt the only madam he has to get off the streets. Theodosias protection becomes just as important as his sisters. What he doesnt expect are the secrets which unfold when they eventually reach Cumbria, and the shadows and lies that threaten to tear them apart forever.
