Walter Kirn recommends
The Reservoir (2022)
David Duchovny
"A heartbreaking story of the cloaked complexities of father-daughter love framed as a sort of virtuoso suicide note. In its depiction of the breakthrough longings that come with growing older, it also struck me, wonderfully, as a contemporary Death in Venice."
The Dakota Winters (2016)
Tom Barbash
"This is a crazily charming novel I wanted to begin a new life in these pages, with these characters. I wanted to trade worlds with them. This is a wise and seductive story that feels truer than true, as only the very finest fiction does."
