U.S. Marshal Sling Dolan sits sweating in a New Mexican jail, accused of the murder of John Webb, the outlaw. He’s waiting on his sentence to hang by the neck until dead. Hoodoo Brown and Dirty Dave Rudabaugh from the Dodge City Gang are furious that their fellow gang member’s dead body was paraded around town like a trophy. They want their revenge. Sheriff Joe Carson is secretly a gang member, and they use him to railroad the Texan marshal.

Festive rides to La Cruces to find Steve Rand, the famous bounty hunter, to help them break Sling out of jail. He’s accompanied by Chuck and Chip Conrad, who own a ranch outside El Paso. Sling saved their cattle and horses from rustlers, and they owe him big. They ride north to Las Vegas, New Mexico, where Doc Holliday owns a saloon and was partners with the recently deceased.

Three of the most notorious gunfighters in the West are found in the city overrun with outlaws and villains. It’s 1880, and New Mexico is nearly lawless. This is where El Paso’s sheriff sits rotting in jail.
