You have the right to remain magic, baby. Any spell you cast can be used against you.

It was an easy enough mistake. And not totally my fault. After all, I didn't cast the damn spell.

But the Judge, the strongest magic user on this planet, and maybe a few other realms gave me an order to clean up my mess.

Twelve demons released into the world and my job is to hunt down the witches who control them or are them and make them stop.

I'll have allies along the way. I always do, but they're going to have their own agenda.

It might not be that helpful to mine.

And there are vampires, werewolves, giants and freaking pixies all over the place. What's a Battle Mage to do, except gird his loins and tilt against some trolls taller than windmills.

I've got a sidekick who is not that trusty. I think he blames me for getting him killed.

I've got an ex wife who may be in charge of the demon summoning. She's been missing for almost a decade and popped up in Memphis, my home base to do the dirty deed.

I'm not the strongest magic man out there, not by far. I don't even know how I earned the silver star. I am lucky though, and if I'm just a little bit luckier than all the people trying to kill me, I just might make it out of the Big Easy alive.
