An American ex-pat,Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger moved to Austria. The mountain and the writing blood of her maternal grandmother runs thickly through her veins. During her first visits to Austria and Italy, she uncovered the story beneath the Reschen Lake Reservoir and tackled an immense project, now published as the Reschen Valley series.
Lucyk-Berger's works have been recognized in several ways. The novels from the Reschen Valley series have been shortlisted with the Flash500 Novel Award, have won the Coffee Pot Book Club Book Award, have garnered a Discovered Diamond, and acquired five-star reviews on Readers' Favorite. Her "Souvenirs from Kiev" won an HNS International Short Story award and the collection was awarded the silver for military and wartime fiction in the IPPY 2020 Book Awards.
