A Novella by

Mary Manners and her business partner, Alicia, bring their sweet treats bakery, Sugar High, to the small town of Quitman, Texas. Given Quitman’s population of less than two thousand, the move is risky, but made minimally feasible by a constant flow of pass-through traffic.

What Mary doesn’t expect is a total heart-and-life change. In the neighboring Speakeasy Coffeehouse, she meets Miss Angie, a mysterious older woman with a gentle, calming spirit. Almost immediately, subtle changes begin to take place in her primary beliefs about life and God. Miss Angie also introduces Mary to Tim Sweet, a handsome minister whose kindness and sense of humor steal her heart in a flash.

But startling revelations about the Manners family history, followed by a gut-wrenching loss, throw her for an emotional loop that threatens her relationships with both God and Tim. Can she overcome the devastating blow to a newfound love and lifestyle in time to save both?
