Scenes From The Barbershop Floor
(2020)(A book in the Barney Thomson series)
A Novella by Douglas Lindsay
Edward Scissorhands meets Seinfeld in the first twelve episodes of the cult online scripted sitcom, SCENES FROM THE BARBERSHOP FLOOR, featuring iconic Scottish barbershop hero, Barney Thomson.
It is the days of the coronavirus. There is no crime, and little plot to speak of. Instead, endless days passed on a small island in the Firth of Clyde, as infection sweeps the globe, the world burns, economies crumble and dictators rise from the ashes of democracy. Thus is the beginning of the end of human civilisation as we know it chronicled from a barbershop window, looking out on an ever-changing seascape.
Barney Thomson is back, and this time he’s phlegmatic…
“Lindsay has a real ear for dialogue and a highly visual imagination.” – The Sunday Mirror
Excerpt:
It was a fairweather day in Millport. High clouds, a light breeze coming in from the sea, the blue-grey water of the Clyde sparkling in the sun, the white tips of the waves pirouetting in the bay. There was something in the air. It might have been spring, although it was also possible it was a relaxed sigh of contentment from Planet Earth at the imminent destruction of the human race.
Genre: Historical Mystery
