The Shahnameh: The Persian Book of Kings

Written a thousand years ago by the Persian poet Ferdowsi, the Shahnameh is an epic that tells of the beginning of time and of how great heroes like Sam, Zal and Rustam fought and conquered demons, and how women like Rudabah and Gordafarid stole the heroes' hearts. The stories are retold here by Elizabeth Laird, with illustrations and decorated pages by Shirin Adl. Age 8+
