Shes one of Londons beauties ... He's London's ogre.
Lady Isabella Knox enjoys her independence. She collects straysdogs, kittens, runaway bridesbut she has no intention of collecting a husband.
Major Nicholas Reynolds returned from the Battle of Waterloo a hero. Hes had enough of soldiering; all he wants now is a bride ... but his scarred face sends young ladies fleeingliterally.
When a slip of her tongue brands the major an ogreand his chances of marriage disintegrateIsabella sets out to undo the harm she inadvertently caused. How better to revive the majors marriage prospects than for the two of them to indulge in a make-believe flirtation? They both know its not real, so wheres the danger?
But Isabella is soon in over her headand so is Major Reynolds.
I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling of Beauty and the Beast! A delightful comedy.

(Lady Isabellas Ogre is a new version of Beauty and the Scarred Hero, which was published under the penname Emily May. The last few chapters have been rewritten. Some things are the same, some are different...)
How would you describe your writing?
Several reviewers have likened my writing to Georgette Heyer, which is the hugest compliment ever. I adore Georgette Heyer! Shes why I write historical romance, and I reread her books over and over. (If youve not read The Grand Sophy, please do so!) Ive also had readers compare my writing to Courtney Milan and Mary Balogh, which are also massive compliments.
Who would like this book?
This novel would appeal to readers who like the historical backdrop and humor of Georgette Heyer and the emotion of Mary Balogh or Courtney Milan.
Happy reading!
