Hollywood, 1940.
Ex-US Marine, Micawber Fisher, is scraping a living as a private investigator in Encino, not far from RKO Studios. A Miss Gräfenberg arrives in his office one day, searching for a missing 15-year old boy. Fisher becomes embroiled in a tale taking in the seamier side of LA, a military academy in San Diego and some deeds to a valuable land tract. A homage to all the hard-boiled, from the Continental Op to Mike Hammer via Sam Spade.
