The Witch Tree

(1971)
A novel by

For two hundred years it had stood alone on the island, shunned by the natives from the mainland. The house was strong, and might have almost been alive. Stories had been told for many generations of the evils that congregated there. Some of the stories were meant to frighten children..but fear could strike as swiftly at an adult's heart as at a child's. Joan Rondon came to the island searching for her sister...and found that after two hundred years of legend, the terror of the old house had come to life again. The old stories were told anew...along with new stories of strange happenings, of worshipers of strange gods. Joan came to the island to find her sister but found instead an impossible danger that threatened her immortal soul.
