An account of the two most incredible years in London's history. First came the Great Plague, a time of unbelievable horror when at times only criminals were left to bury those who had perished and when the only public cry to be heard was 'Bring out your Dead'. Then a year later came the Great Fire which cleansed the city from the Plague but reduced the capital to a charred ruin. The story of those times lacks nothing in drama but this is an engrossing and absorbing account which concentrates on the human suffering and experience.
