oan Dahr Lambert: I'm an academic who accidentally became a novelist when I wrote my first book, CIRCLES OF STONE (Simon & Schuster 1197,99). I thought I was writing a non-fiction account of female contributions to human evolution, but the book mysteriously transformed itself into a novel as words and scenes appeared unbidden in my mind. That had never happened to me before, and it was an amazing, enlightening experience. It changed my life. I've been writing novels ever since and have enjoyed every moment of it.
