Trust and Obey is a "fictionally enhanced" true-life story, based on some very traumatic events. Although it is a Christian novel and a clean read, it covers some topics that will evoke emotions and become heart breaking, leaving us wondering why God allows some things to happen, to which we may never find the answers. Bobby and Marcella (Marc) knew theirs was a forbidden love, but because they were young and naive, felt that their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacles. It wasn't long before tragedy struck changing their lives forever. Due to evil prejudice and accusations, Bobby had to flee for his life, leaving Marc and their daughter behind, thinking they would be safer without him. One evil man not only kept Marc and her family in fear for her safety, but he also made the entire town into a battleground for racial injustices, forcing Bobby to stay away, while he and Marc continued to live with broken hearts and learned to go on living without each other. During the next few years Marc endures more tragedy and heartbreak than anyone should ever have. Was there no stopping this mean, evil man? How long could he get by with threatening everyone who was 'different' than him? Help finally arrives in a very unforeseen form, as Marc and her family find that their family has known devastation for generations. In a twisted turn of events, Marc's family draws strength from God as they march forward to fight against evil men, lies, prejudice and abuse. Their battles are much easier to face once they finally learn to Trust and Obey God. But is it too late to save Bobby and Marc's future together?
