A saloon gal gets her man, but she has to share him with two orphans. Muddy Tilghman is a lawman turned bounty hunter, who tries to raise the money for a ranch, but gives up his dream in order to make his wife happy. It's the story of a man and woman struggling to make a life together in the early days of Deadwood, South Dakota Territory. He's hunting outlaws while she opens a store. In the process of hunting criminals, Muddy finds that he has to make decisions about life and death for the criminals who show no mercy to others. In the end, though Muddy tries to lay down his gun, he finds he must strap it on again to get justice for his friend and protection for himself and his family.
