A day after the disaster of 9/11, tragedy strikes in the heart of Chicago.

The Anderson Building explodes and almost one thousand lives are lost.

Everybody assumes that Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaida have struck, after decimating the Twin Towers.

But 58 year old Jimmy Parisi, a legendary Chicago Homicide Detective, thinks otherwise...

He suspects that the bombing of the Chicago building isn't down to terrorists, but actually the work of someone much closer to home...

Jimmy suspects the motive behind the bombing must revolve around money.

Having been in the game for so long, Jimmy knows that when a case is centred on money, the Russian Mafia are never far away.

He shares his suspicions with his wife Natalie, who is also a Homicide Detective and his work partner, Tommy spencer.

But when Jimmy attempts to convince the police and the FBI, they immediately tell him to keep out of the investigation.

In spite of their demands, Jimmy decides to take matters into his own hands and enlists his wife and Spencer to lend a hand.

Though the Russians, the FBI, and police all try to derail Jimmy from the investigation, he knows that the loss of a thousand lives demands justice...

Especially when the threats start to become personal.

In this game of cat and mouse, Jimmy knows it falls on his shoulders to stand and deliver.

But will Jimmy be able to find out the truth?

Are the Russians just innocent pawns in the game?

And will justice be delivered?

The Long Midnight is a tense and action packed thriller that explores the dangerous world of terrorism and corruption. It is the fourth book in the Detective Jimmy Parisi Thriller series.
