Three struggling people. One place above a bookstore.

Julian, 34, was a run-of-the-mill romance writer. His divorce left him in debt up to his eyeballs, with little to no chance of recovery. It’s hard to write love stories when he’s not sure if love exists anymore.

Alex, 27, dropped out of college years ago to help a boyfriend climb out of debt. Seven years and several boyfriends later, she’s still working multiple jobs and just scraping by.

Ali, 19, lost her parents in a car accident six months ago. Now she has ownership of her mother’s bookstore, The Book Bank, and is halfway through college. Both the store and her studies are struggling, leaving her with an impossible choice. Will she give up on her dream, or give up on her mother’s?

In a city of a million people, three lives will cross paths until they come to a realization. Life and bills are easier when shared. Will this idea fail as well, or will these three find happiness
