In April 1934, Merritt published a chapter in "Cosmos. Science Fiction Digest/Fantasy Magazine", titled "The Last Poet and the Robots."
This was as a round-robin novel published in 17 installments in the magazine. Later, in the October 1936 issue of "Thrilling Wonder Stories", Merritt published a stand-alone revision of the "The Last Poet and the Robots." He titled this work "The Rhythm of the Spheres."
