Sunshine Galley has lived an interesting life to say the least. Growing up in Hell as a half-succubus, half-witch gave her an edge over her full-demon siblings, but her mother’s stories of life on Earth gave her a wanderlust that Hell just couldnt fulfil. She wants more than fire and brimstone; she wants to see trees and flowers and the sunshine she was named after.

On her twenty-first birthday—or as near as she can estimate, given that time in Hell works differently than on Earth—Sunshine sets out for Nowhere, the ley-line-filled Earth town where her cousins and childhood friends live. Unfortunately for Sunshine, Earth time passes more slowly than she’s used to, and her friends and cousins are all still children. With her aunt and uncles and their friends all treating her like the child they remember, she finds Earth life rather dull. While Sunshine debates her future, a new arrival in Nowhere, drawn by the town’s network of ley lines, is about to stir things up.

Aynah the
mære is hungry for a meal more filling than the boring humans can provide. Feeding off the nightmare dream energy of her victims, Aynah is intoxicated by Sunshine’s succubus power when they meet. As a distant cousin of a succubus herself, Aynah’s familiar with the magical energy of lust, but something’s different about Sunshine. So intrigued is she by this hybrid being of immense power that she tracks her into the waking world, her obsession driving her to learn more about the half-breed’s life.

Only one thing can get in Aynah’s way: The new tribe of demon hunters descending on Nowhere, following the rumors of demonic activity on the rise. Now Sunshine and Aynah have to deal with this growing threat while also navigating the burgeoning relationship between them.
