Alex Martin first began to write stories as a child but her life took many a detour before she saw her work published. Her debut novel, The Twisted Vine, is semi-biographical and based on one of her adventures in France, where she now lives half the time. Then came Daffodils, a story inspired by the village where her two children were born in rural Wiltshire. Her neighbour, Old Harry, sparked the idea when he told her embroidered, vivid tales about the changes to the village through his 100-year-old life. She never expected it to spawn a six-book saga spanning two World Wars through two families who lived at Cheadle Manor, one rich, one poor. Who could have imagined the transformation to these characters' lives as they struggled to survive such monumental global conflicts? Now the final book, Ivy, is published and The Katherine Wheel Series is complete.
So, what next? Could it be a sequel to The Rose Trail, a timeslip ghost story? Or something completely different?
