I enjoyed this old school romance from Ms. Mather. I thought it was well written and presented a clear picture of a marriage that soured because the wife did not enjoy the intimacy/sex with the husband. He meets and falls in love with the heroine, but she breaks away from him when she learns that he is married. The wife of the hero learns of this by some means and contrives things so that the heroine is employed as a governess for their daughter in their home. The one moment that I did not like toward the end, her running away from the hero and making assumptions instead of being brave enough to learn the truth. Sidenote: Why does Ms. Mather like to create heroines that have No Female Friends with whom to share and seek advice.
