Annabel was grief-stricken when her fiance, Dan, was killed in an accident. Her grief was compounded by shock when she learnt that at the time he had been with his old love, the beautiful Maureen Kenley. After a time, Annabel and Maureen's husband, Ellis, seemed to find that the tragedy formed a bond between them.
