(The second book in the DCI Layla Khan Investigation series)
A novel by

A tense politically charged crime thriller in which the community relations of Britain's premier holiday resort are put to the test.
A Blackpool hotel in which asylum seekers and refugees have been placed whilst their applications are processed, is deliberately set on fire leading to a high number of fatalities due to the serious overcrowding. A contentious debate is opened in the town and suspicion falls on a far-right group who are planning a march in Blackpool's town centre.
Meanwhile, DI Layla Khan and her team investigate the apparently unconnected murder of a retired teacher that also brings back to light the disappearance of a Blackpool woman six years ago who's never been found.
As the murder count rises further, and the mystery deepens, DI Khan is convinced of a connection between all of the crimes. And when she manages to get to what that connection is, she and her team have to try and get one step ahead of those who cover their tracks well.
