The Little Angel

When the angels call the shepherds to Bethlehem to view the new king, Micah is left behind to look after the flock. Alone and afraid of the wolves, he is delighted to find a new friend in the Little Angel who has damaged her wings and so also been left behind. Together the two friends set off for Bethlehem to see the newborn king and find their lives are changed for ever.

This is a magical story of the first Christmas, and also of bravery and friendship, in which Ian Beck's exquisitely coloured illustrations are the perfect complement to Geraldine McCaughrean's warm and imaginative text. Portraying the first Christmas from a child's point of view is not a new concept yet this version offers a freshness and originality which ensures that it will become a festive favourite for years to come.
