J H Markert recommends
Bitter is the Heart (2024)
Mina Hardy
"With a thread of generational trauma that just won't break, Mina Hardy's Bitter is the Heart takes the mother-daughter relationship to a whole new terrifying level."
This Wretched Valley (2024)
Jenny Kiefer
"Set deep in the backwoods of eastern Kentucky, This Wretched Valley by Jenny Kiefer took me to a place I'd never want to go, yet found myself completely unable to leave. What started off as a Michael Crichton'like adventure soon gave way to something more reminiscent of Jennifer McMahon's The Winter People and Scott Smith's The Ruins. A ghost story on steroids, with wonderfully disturbing images laced throughout. I don't think I'll ever go hiking again!"
Burn the Negative (2023)
Josh Winning
"This book had me hooked from line one! Slasher? Final Girl? Haunted hotel? Cursed movie within a movie within a book? Is it possible to seamlessly fold everything a horror fan loves into one story? Josh Winning not only says it is, but in Burn the Negative, he pulls it off flawlessly."
