A heart-warming Christmas tale of triumph against adversity…
Christmas 1909 – Kit Aston and his friends are attending a fight at the National Sporting Club in London featuring the great Canadian fighter, Sam Langford. On the undercard is an aging middleweight fighter called Haymaker Harris.
Financial circumstances have forced Haymaker to take a fight against a younger and heavier opponent. A meeting with gang leader Billy Kimber has added yet more worry to the anxiety Haymaker is already feeling.
This festive novelette introduces characters from the popular Kit Aston mysteries as well as a first chance to meet the long-suffering husband of Aunt Agatha, Eustace ‘Useless’ Frost.
If you haven’t read the Kit Aston series before now – this is a great introduction. For those of you that know the characters, you can meet them ten years before the series begins, as young men.
