McLoughlin proposes that the combination of marginalization of men under Margaret Thatcher, and Tony Blair's actions of making government part of popular culture, made women the dominant political force in our society. Yet by the very nature of the popular culture that empowered them - trivial, emotional and irrational - women have brought about change in crucial aspects of our society which now threaten the democratic system itself.
