When I woke up in a forest full of monsters with no memory of who I was, I had two immediate thoughts:
One: I’m probably going to die screaming.
Two: Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

All I know is my last name—Samson—and that I’ve apparently landed in a world where everything wants to kill me and the only way to survive is to play by some ridiculous game-like rules.

Oh, and did I mention the waves of monsters? Yeah, they’re a thing. Nowhere is safe. Not the forest. Not the town. Definitely not my head. Luckily, I unlocked a Class:
Guardian. Sounds badass, right? Wrong. It’s basically a glorified punching bag with “potential.” Which is game-speak for you’re going to suck until you level up.

So here I am, dodging death while trying to figure out quests, scavenge gear, and somehow convince a bunch of strangers to form a party with me—preferably people who know what they’re doing, because I sure don’t. And just when I think it can’t get any worse, I find out the only way to recover my memories is to complete
Truth Quests. The catch? Those quests are for high-level players. Me? I’m firmly stuck in “low-level loser” mode.

But wait, it gets better! I’m starting to remember fragments of my past, and it turns out some of my family might be trapped here too. So now, on top of trying not to die, I’ve got to find them and figure out how to escape this monster-infested nightmare. No big deal, right?

Spoiler alert: it’s a big deal.
