(1968)
A novel by

Rolf and Margery Anderson were journeying to their honeymoon after their wedding when they were involved in a serious accident. Margery was crippled, and lay for months in hospital. Soon afterwards, Rolf was on hand to save Fleur Arnell from drowning while she was on holiday in Cornwall, but she little realized this was the start of a new life. Rolf asked Fleur to give up her job in London and to help look after Margery when she came out of hospital. Alone in the world, Fleur agreed, though she knew that she was fast falling in love with this strange, unhappy man who was married to another woman.
