Pawns of Power

When Sir Humphrey Benford presented his widowed daughter, Marian, at Court, by order of King Edward IV, she found herself drawn into the company of Lady Anne Neville, daughter of the Earl of Warwick. Marian hoped to find a husband of her own choice, but Sir Humphrey was commanded by the King to wed her to Sir Ralf Compton. The Lady Anne was in love with the King's younger brother, Richard of Gloucester, but her father had quarrelled with the King.
